Congratulations on your new bundle of joy. While this time is filled with excitement and new journeys, there are some storage options you need to consider for your baby’s nursery. You may think that you do not need a lot of storage right now, but the truth is, you do and as your baby grows, you will need even more space. 1. Install a Fold Down Changing Table

You know those fold down changing tables in bathrooms, right? They are awfully convenient when you need a place to change your baby and they also save space. Why not install a fold down changing table in your baby’s nursery? This way, you do not have to take up so much space with a changing table and you can use the changing pad at your convenience.

2. Consider a Padded Storage Bench

Instead of a traditional rocker with a gliding ottoman, opt-in for a long, padded storage bench with underneath storage. This way, you can place the bench near the window and take in nature as you nurse or read to your baby. The under storage area will allow you to store books, baskets, stuffed animals, toys and more.

3. Choose a Trundle Bed

You can maximize storage in your baby’s new nursery by choosing a crib or toddler bed that has an under storage area that can be used. Typically, trundle beds come with a large drawer or a couple of smaller drawers. You can place clothes, toys, and any other items inside of them. Accessing the items is easy as all you have to do is pull the drawer out.

4. Shelving and More Shelving

Shelving won’t go out of style and you can even paint shelves that match the interior of your baby’s new nursey. You have additional options when it comes to shelving as well. You can choose built in shelving, open shelving, bookcase style shelving, and standalone shelves.

One thing you should keep in mind is that if you do decide to have open shelving or bookcases in your child’s room, you need to make sure that you anchor them to the wall. If you do not, they may tip over easily and this can cause serious injuries to your child.

5. Rent a Storage Unit

If you find that you still have too many items that you do not have a home for, consider renting a storage unit to hold your additional belongings. If you do plan to store your items in a storage unit, make sure that you label everything and place items that you know you will need in the future in the front of your storage unit.
